How to practice journaling, and make it a habit

You want to start Journaling? let’s go!

Practicing Journaling is simply putting your emotions, feelings, and thoughts on paper, ignoring all the chaos running through your mind, and being willing to surrender to the whiteness ahead of you.

We can describe journaling as a mind detoxing, in which you declutter the overwhelming mental activities you’ve gone through, organize them to your liking, and put them in a more orderly area.

Sometimes if not all the time, journaling is a fabulous way to come up with innovation and creativity, your mind is full of miracles, and it might come out late at night or in the early morning and surprise you with the sunshine.

That’s why writing every stupid, clever, wrong, or right idea counts.

Why is it important?

The benefits of journaling are uncountable, the ones that have been practicing journaling have miraculous stories, and many changed their mindset and kept winning their days :).

Journaling helps:

Organize your ideas.

It helps build a clear map and put the scattered pieces in their rightful place.

Orient your feelings.

Often, our feelings get perplexed, and we can not differentiate which one deserves our attention or what’s more likely to helps at some point.

Sadness or self-doubt? Real happiness or do you just trying to prove something to yourself? Excitement, or do you only want it to end?

When journaling, everything shows its very identity, and with that, it feels like someone you don’t know is telling you facts about yourself that you might be ignoring, Facts that will help you transform into the best version of yourself, that doesn’t want to hide anymore.

Get rid of negativity.

One of the journaling bonuses is freeing yourself from negativity.

Once you start being honest with yourself and accept it all, you’ll convert your attention to more positive things that will bring your charm out.

Manage your stress.

Putting down what you feel on paper is kind of like screaming and getting all the pressed stress out.

Improve your mood.

How do you feel when you talk to somebody -trustworthy- about something you’ve been hiding for a long time which has been disturbing you?

That’s the same feeling given by journaling. It’s very effective and helps reduce anxiety, relieve stress, and increase self-awareness.

Prioritize problems and find solutions.

Practicing Journaling and brainstorming are one coin.

With journaling, you can come out with a problem you’ve never thought that it exists, and at the same time, its solution-before you think of thinking-is right under your pen.

How’s that? I could say magic.

It’s simple because you wrote anything you could think of, and solutions might be just ahead of us.

Identify and sharpen your powers.

By practicing journaling habitually, you’ll get to know your strengths and how to improve them.

How to practice journaling?

First, choose your time.

6 AM, 8 AM, 9 PM, midnight, midday, afternoon, it’s up to you. Chose when you feel more like writing and expressing your train of thoughts.

It could be every two days, once a week, twice a month, it depends on your preferences.

I usually do it just before sleeping; to clear my mind and welcome the next day.

Choose your mean.

A paper person or a digital person?

You can use whatever you feel comfortable with, as long as it serves the purpose.

Any restraints?

There’s no such thing as restraints in journaling; you can write anything you think of literally; It could be a sentence,543 pages, a single letter, a piece of a poem, a sketch, doodling, ANYTHING!

You can write when you’re sleepy, awake, sad, happy, in public, or alone. The main thing here is to write.
